Comparing Junk Removal Prices and Cost in Toronto

So you some junk. Maybe it's just a coffee table, an old chair or a mattress. Or maybe you have dedicated a 'whole' room for the sole ability to keep some crap that you don't need anymore. Don't fret, as you do have options, which I will explore in this article.

Option 1 - Do It Yourself

The cheapest, but the most inconvenient option is to just do it yourself. First, you will need to find the nearest Landfill Site in Ontario. There are currently 2282 landfills in Ontario. You can click the link here to take a look at all of them.

Also, the City of Toronto allows for some oversized items to be picked up for free regular pickup. The City of Toronto has a website that setup out how to set out your items. The biggest downfalls to this is there is separate rules for each item. For example, there is separate rules for electronic waste, also known as E-Waste.

Although the cheapest option, it is also the option that will require the most work. You will have to sort, organise, and follow instructions on how to dispose of all of the goods. Also, you are responsible for lifting, loading and moving the items.

Option 2 - Hire a Junk Removal Company in Toronto

A more expensive, but more hassle free option is to hire a junk removal company in Toronto or the GTA. The process is simple - just point at the junk and the company does all the lifting and loading, takes the items to local charities, and recycles the goods. There's no sorting or waiting involved. However, the pricing is not so simple. Some companies change per kg, while some charge per cubic yard on their truck or how much space your stuff takes up on their truck. To complicate things, there is no standard truck size, so it make seem like an OK deal, until you realize that a truck is 1/2 the size of another competitors.
